Dog days of Summer...July 29, 2015.

In Oregon, we have had more 90 degree days, even 100's, than most have ever seen here, in a summer. We too, need rain, as we haven't had a good rain for nearly 3 months;  however, we are not on water rationing, YET, like California and other states.

We left Quartzsite, when most of the others were also leaving, late March,April, and are hearts are with Gary and Linda Buckley, who have graciously and energetically agreed to drive 3 hrs. each way on Saturday, to keep the church building open all summer!  This is a first.   For Sunday worship, they have had as many as 11 in attendance, and as few as just them, yet their outward enthusiasm has shown thru what has to be frustrating, also.

Speaking of Gary and Linda, they are upstairs in our house, sleeping like the exhausted "kids" they are, as they drove straight thru from the South, to our place, with only about 3 hrs. of down time to sleep.   They are here for just a short visit, and we so love that they came, but are already dreading the long drive back for them.

Before leaving Q. this spring, the men agreed upon a topic for the 2016 meeting of "Walking In the Light"...(excuse if I didn't get it properly written, but of course means walking with our Savior, Jesus), most or all speakers have been engaged and confirmed their participation. It will be another wonderful feast of Spiritual Food.  Join us in praying about it, please!

One Week Until the 2015 Spiritual Feasting Gospel Meeting Begins....

Today was the Hi Jolly Parade, in which several of the men members of the Church (Vern Miebach, Gerald Molzahn, Bud Moody, and Noel Teague) drove the quad with the sign advertising the meeting

 or walked along the parade route handing out Hershey kisses and invitations to the meeting. They shared the spotlight with a real camel, in honor of Hadji Ali, (who became known as Hi Jolly) a camel trainer who worked for the US Army in the 1850s on an experimental project using camels. The desert of Quartzsite was a perfect place to train the camels, and when the project was abandoned, Hi Jolly stayed in the area and is buried in what is now a National Historic site in Quartzsite.

Much work has been done in preparation for our meeting, and this Wednesday, January 14th, a prayer session, work day and Men's Business Meeting will conclude the preparations.

Snowbirds Beginning to to Think about their Southern Flight...

How exciting to begin receiving more frequently, emails from our Quartzsite Brothers and Sisters in Christ. It gives a shot in the arm, for sure! Some have been very busy planning for our upcoming meeting, and it sounds like it is unfolding just the way it should be.

Since we are maturing adults, we need to acknowledge a few physical conditions within our "flock."  Brother Wendell had a heart attack recently and 2 stents were inserted. Now he says he feels absolutely wonderful, and ready to preach the Word. Praise the Lord!

Sister Mary Blankenship is having much pain from degenerative and misaligned disks, accompanied with arthritis. She is now seeking the expertise of a surgeon, as she has tried P.T. for 6 weeks, with little or no help. Please pray for her and for Brother Ken. At this time, they are unsure of their time in Quartzsite this Snowbird season,

Miebachs have been having repair surgeries this summer, as a result of a car wreck last year.

Sister Fran Rupe is driving to Portland, OR, to help settle her mother's affairs in Oregon and pack her up, as she is going to be living with Fran in Quartzsite.  Fran has been busy making a few upgrades and repairs to prepare for this event. She is very excited to have her mom with her! (Remember that Fran's husband passed away last winter).

At this time, Brother and Sister Molzahn are in Colorado at a Bear Valley Preaching School Reunion, then plan to head on down to Quartzsite.
Brother Noel Teague plans to be in Q. the middle of October.

An encouraging note was sent by Dave and Karen Fiddament, who will be in Q. for the annual meeting and are eager to help. 

Because of another precious grandchild on the way, the Miebachs won't be at Q., most likely, until the first part of January.
Some of you will remember the Lewis' that were in Q. two seasons ago. (Leonard and Jean)  They have been having a nice trip down from Montana, touring and visiting with cousins, including ones of the Miebach family.

Well, we could try to fill in the time between entries....A lot has happened at Quartzsite church of Christ, and yet it is also the same!
                                       
Although Brother Wendell has had help preaching this year (mainly Gerald Mohlzahn and Ken Blankenship) he is still the main speaker. Paul Swangel has had some help this year leading singing, but he is still going strong with that, also.   We are grateful for the many years both have served!

Some of us have moved on, to greener fields...which is about anywhere. A few have passed on to Paradise. Waiting for that great resurrection day!  Among those are Dan Boenish, who with his wife, Harriett, handed out water bottles at their jewelry table, with a scripture on them, and an invitation to worship with us. Effie Seawright, Elsie Brian, Myron Nelson, and Howard Moyer are a few of them.
This is the 2nd year that Olen and Edie Tackett have not come to the desert for warmth. Edie just got tired of packing up all that "stuff" and Olen needed to take better care of himself, too.  

Bob Coffey, now in Arkansas, suffered a stroke and is improving with much help from wife Pat, and at home therapists. He has had carotid artery surgery recently, also.

Our Spiritual Feasting Meeting in January 2014 was a wonderful one, as have all four years! We had some wonderful speakers preaching straight from the scriptures.  We had one speaker who allowed the devil to shoot arrows at us, but because we have grown in love and are girded with truth, we were able to deflect those arrows, and we believe it drew us all closer. 

We have a beautiful website being built!  Most likely you are looking at it right now.  The men have been spending much time in meetings to determine when to have next year's meeting and what the theme of it will be, and how we can grow in our service to Quartzsite and the world, for God's glory. One way we have is the wonderful World Video Bible School DVDs that we put on the backs of the seats we set in for worship.  We encourage people to take them. We have given out close to 300 this winter season, already.  They are taken by people who live all over this United States, and who knows how many people have sought the Lord's church because of these DVDs.    If you are on the church website, just chose Free On Line Videos at the top and click on it. These are available via YouTube, or the WVBS website, to watch free! What a great way to fulfill the GREAT COMMISSION to carry the Gospel to all. 

We have been blessed by new people attending and becoming a part of our Quartzsite family. Praise God for that.  The men are also contacting AIM, Adventures in Missions, via Sunset School of Preaching, in hopes of attracting a young couple to come and work with us in Q. especially with those whose hair has not turned grey yet. :) The goal being to be able to have a full-time congregation: one that is "open" all year long, instead of closing from May to Nov.    It is so hot here in the summer that many businesses and also private citizens, close or vacate during July, Aug and September, anyway.

ALREADY MIDDLE OF JULY!

Summer in the Willamette Valley has come late, or not at all. We did have a few days of 80-90 degree weather, but have been cool, following a nice rain to water our garden...garden?? what garden. The seeds don't want to sprout, what did, some nice furry or feathered creation of God's pulled out of the garden and laid them neatly by their rows. Or, as of last night, a deer ate our zucchini !!! This pic shows Vern right behid our house.

Vern is good about not starting to hay until enough days are forecast without rain, so he can get it all sold out of the field with no rain. He was successful, once again. Around here, I've been told that others wait to see when Vern starts his haying. That's quite a compliment. It is so nice to sell it out of the field! We don't pick it up, except 50 bales, for our son's horse, and he and his wife picked it up and me or Vern drove tractor.

Olen called the other night and invited us to a catfish dinner. Would love to have taken him up on that. Told him it was a little too far to drive for dinner. Good to hear his voice.

Have been emailing Kay and Woody, who are enjoying their first year in their house at Twin Falls. We would have loved to go to Darla and Robert's wedding on June 11, my birthday, but we were on Grandson, horse, 3 dogs and farm duty in Central OR at that time. Sounds like their wedding was wonderful.

Wendell keeeps up on things. Was sorry that he lost his mother recently. She has had no quality of life for some time, and they took turns being with her til she passed. From the articles he sent, it sounds like Quartzsite's political machine needs a good oiling. But then we kind of suspected that for sometime, didn't we!

Vern is getting excited about the good speakers we have for the meeting this year...the 2nd annual 'Eight Days of Spiritual Feasting.'

Our children and grandchildren pay us no mind when they plan their babies to be born, and one is due on Thanksgiving Day ( a little brother for the one you met this past winter...Katie's) and another one, yet to be announced, LEGALLY, by their request, to be born in February. That is really going to mess up our time in Q. this year, but family is very important to us, if you didn't already know that.

Reg just had nose surgery to remove -or maybe clean out-??some "filter" thingys we have up our nostrils, that were plugged up. It was a day surgery and he is home now. Linda says he is doing better than feared. She had a big skin cancer removed from her face, and the dr. took 20 stitches (tiny and tight) so she should heal wonderfully.

Vern is anticipating shoulder surgery before we return to Q.

He is at a shepherd's meeting (aka elders meeting)...tonight, and I WAS GOING TO RUN some errands, but I am tired! I don't want to even WALK the errands. :) So think I'll stay home and vegetate.

Bill and Darlene visited with Reg and Linda and went on their way to WA. (we were out over the Mts. at our sons house) and did you know they bought a 3 b-room house in Sierra Vista. AZ close to Bill's daughter? How fun!!!

Starting to get a pull towards home.......wherever that is..:)....?

Well, I think all of us snowbirds hear the call of home ....some are leaving from our little church family. MaryEllen and Noel Teague, Mary and Ken Blankenship, Teresa and Jim Miller, Anne and Don Harnisch. Fran Ruppe and her husband have sold their place here and are moving to Del Rio, TX. They lived their several years back. I love Fran's consistent devotion and attendance in our congregation and will miss her a lot.

The Ground Hog could not possibly have seen his shadow on Feb 2nd, with all the snowstorms, so Spring should be early. Today it is snowing and cold in our

home base of Albany, OR. burrr....!

It has been a wonderful year here this year, church wise and weather wise. Our Gospel Meeting was wonderful and kept us Spiritually fed, but with a built up appetite, we were kind of lost for awhile, with only the regularly scheduled services. We are already excited about speakers for next year!

Our Ladies' Bible Class has been going very well and has been a blessing to all of us. We had a salad luncheon today, following our class, in honor of the group of ladies leaving tomorrow.
We have consistently been having 12-14 attend. (We started with four I think.)

Next year we hope to have a mid-week service, maybe on Thursday or Tuesday night, so we can still go to Olen and Edie's on Wed. night, also

Just wanted to share the good-will and love we have grown into this year!

Eight Days of Spiritua Feasting, Gospel Meeting

We are feeling full in our hearts! The feast of spiritual food has been greaten. We have enjoyed having Darrell Decker as our guest from the congregation where Reg & Linda and Vern & I attend. He spoke Monday night, and we had right at 40 there. Then he will speak again tonight, Wednesday. Vern and Reg will get him back, via airplane out of Phoenix, to his family in Albany. They are missing him.

Jim Miller and his wife, Teresa, are staying at the church's lot, and he spoke Sunday at 2 and is again on Fri and Sat. nights. Gerald Molzahn is speaking in Victor Rodriguez's place on Thur. and Wendell has Sundays and spoke Tues. night also. Different styles of presenting. but taken out of the same Holy Bible.

The weather turned off really warm for January. Has been over 80 and we are fanning ourselves, but is so good for this meeting, and the QIA POWWOW SHOW, and all the other million vendors, etc. This place is hopping busy!

We have had a great two months of worshipping and fellowshipping and planning for our first annual (we hope) Gospel Meeting. It will be held January 16-23rd, and is suppose to have 4 guest speakers, but just found out today Victor Rodriguez, of Wenden, AZ will not be able to participate. He is scheduled to go to Sunset Lecturships and didn't realize the conflict in times. Oh well, it will work out.
We have had lovely warm blue-sky weather, until about a week ago...Burr! it has frozen the last 4 nights. Days are cooler also. This is a result of that cold streak coming down from the N.W. area. (why do you think we're here!)

Two couples from this congregation bought seventy new chairs for us They are burgundy in color, have a rack under them for Bibles/or songbooks, and they have a comfy four inch pad. We all told Wendell that he could talk longer now, but he hasn't taken us up on it yet.

A group of us had Christmas dinner together, played some table games, and had great Blue-Grass Pickin' too. Then we did the same thing for New Year's Eve, but we didn't start until 7:00 so that we could last until after midnight. Only half of us stayed until then. We beat on pots and pans outside, but didn't hear anyone else. Think everyone went to bed early.

We have had more people at an earlier time than most years, so that is encouraging to us.

Hazel and Paul Swangel, long time dear members who live in Iowa, had to make an emergency
return to the ice, cold and snow of Iowa because their youngest daughter, Laura, is seriously ill in ICU with pneumonia and the affects of her body trying to shut down. She is hanging on, but the doctors are cautious with offering much encouragement. She appears to be showing some tiny bits of improvements. Many are praying for her.

FALL MAKES US THINK OF YOU, EVEN MORE!

Oh, falling leaves, acid smell from the ground, trees turning lovely colors...it's my favorite time of the year! Autumn. We begin putting items aside that we want to take with us on our Snowbirding trip to Quartzsite: this pile for the church buildings or property, this pile for our place. We just transport things from there to OR and other things from OR to AZ. Kind of funny.

Vern just got back from spending a wonderful time in the deep mountains with our two boys. He is just a tiny bit cranky at having to come back to REALITY. But, this is reality: farm fences not hot today, air out of a tractor tire, dog's been to the vet and costing more money, things to attend to at Albany church that occurred during his absence, a big bill for fixing a small thing on the car. You know, just the normal.

The Quartzsite church of Christ has not gained financially during the summer. Perhaps some of us mean to make up our pledges when we get back. "Life" can also cause a drop in the donations. We've made a big commitment and had a great first year of donations. I have been looking at someway of making some extra money that we can give. Our children, g.children, Albany church, missionaries, etc. have needed a lot of help lately, as probably most of you are experiencing the same thing. This will be a test of our faith in God's word, when he says, "Bring in the whle tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you in the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until there is no more need."Malachi 3:10.

Linda Herrings son had his double lung transplant and is doing well. She has been in Tucson for a month, and should be coming home this week. Think Reg might be tired of bachelor life.

Our contacts with the body of Christ which meets in Quartzsite has not been very good lately. Our summer-from June 7-to Aug.28-was spend with a five year old grandson at our house most every day and some nights. Our accomplishments were great though: "we" went from a beginner 'white belt' to an orange belt in Karate for Kids, "we" got a medal for our first year of T-Ball, and "we" learned to swim without a life jacket on, even jumping into the deep end of the pool! "We" also learned to cut with scissors, and immediately trimmed a doll's hair! "We learned to write our name: Conagher. It's not an easy name to write. When I wrote it hurriedly one time, he pointed out that I had left out the "g."

Hello to the Quartzsite church of Christ, scattered all over the United States.
As soon as we get back to our biological families, we surely get "occupied" don't we!
Vern and I have been on grandchild and dog and horse duty for our youngest son, for 4 weeks now. Not doing too good, either. ha. We sold one of their horses, the grandson has a ecky nose cold, and one of their dogs attacked one of the others, and we have vet bills.
Oh well! That's life...ours anyway.
Vern is haying our fields now. The grass is lovely, but thought we'd never get to hay because we had so much rain in June and the ground is still wet; however, the hay cured out nicely. Baling more today, tomorrow, and to infinity....well, it just seems that way.
Not nearly as much to cut/bale as we used to have.
It was hard planting a garden, for the same reasons, rain, showers, sprinkles, INTERMITTENT SPRINKLES WITH RAIN. Our weather people come up with novel ideas to relay the same message...RAIN!

Heard from Pat Coffey, and Bob's mother passed on. They were very close to her, and he lost his dad not too long ago. They would be celebrating their 70th anniversary, and she wanted to be with him for that! Here is their address/phone in case you care to send condolences.

Earlier, we had a great visit with Bill and Darlene Sturgal, here in Albany. They played some Blue Grass and sang and we got to invite a few of our friends. Our son and his friend enjoyed joining in now and then, when they could.

Kay and Woody Hoyman just bought a house in Twin Falls, Idaho! They will still be wintering in Quartzsite!

Wendell and Joanne Seawright are in New Hampshire now, I believe. They were enroute and stopped for awhile to visit Rose. They attended services there and was surprised to see Joanne (Jo) Moreland there! Her son-in-law leads the singing there! Isn't that great to run into a member of our church family!

Olen and Edie Tackett called and reported they are doing well, and their garden is up and way ahead of ours!

Linda and Reg Herring have been doing some yard remodeling and found muscles they don't know they had! Been moving large rocks and boulders around.

Talked to Hazel Swangel and she reports that Paul and she are doing fine!
Also, visited by phone with Harriett Boenish. She got moved to a city and can attend all services now, and visit with friends. She was so far out and away, and Minnesota has bad winters which kept her house bound. She is much happier and sends her love to all.

A financial report is that we did pay an extra $8,000 to Red and Norma, who sold us the property and buildings, making a total of $21,000 paid this past season. Our bank account is $6,700+ so we are holding well.......but we need to be making some deposits to ensure we can make another $13,000 payment soon. Our first anniversary

Our first year has gone by so quickly, as they all seem to do for us seniors.
So much has been accomplished at our facility at 76 S. Emelia in Quartzsite: the men made a new front porch ramp (the old one was rickety and unsafe) and then a new porch from the backside of the double wide was built that connected straight across to the door of the single wide, coats of protective roof sealer were put on, electric work modified and improved and beautifying of the outside and inside via women of the congregation, mostly.

Some of us went "door knocking" around our area to welcome and invite the neighbors to worship with us, as well as attend an Open House, potluck. Improvements in the lot/buildings can only be welcomed by the neighbors.

The Snowbird attendance peaked at over 100, and is staying higher than normal for this time of the year (which is the end of the season for many Snowbirds) with 31 present yesterday, March 21.

A congregational meeting was held after evening services last night, and it was decided to apply $8,000 more to our balance due on our loan. That will take us down to $44,000 due. People!
That is phenomenal. That means $81,000 has been paid off of the $125,000 beginning price, just in this year! Praise God! And blessings to all who have invested in this endeavor. OF course this will greatly deplete our bank balance, leaving approx. $3,000, for summer time emergencies. Hopefully the gains will be far more valuable than investments in "stocks and bonds." Every bit we put on the principal lowers our interest we have to pay.

So please help us pay this off quickly so we can begin to think about buying comfortable chairs for old bodies to set in!

Been a little occupied

We call this Quartzsite Church of Christ, the stone-soup church, no not officially...just between us. Do you remember the story of the poor soldier who walked into a poor town and no one would share any food with him? He built a fire, borrowed a big pot from someone, added water, and announced he was making stone -soup. He then placed a large clean stone in the pot. People watched and asked how that was going to turn the stone into soup. He told them it would be better if he had a potato...someone ran to get one, and then he said carrots would make it better, and someone ran to get some, and so forth and so forth until all the town ate and shared a wonderful soup made from just a stone. Well, that is how this church has been furnished and equipped! Everyone has been thinking about it all summer, it appears, and when they arrive, they bring something for it. How fantastic! It is just wonderful to see and feel the support from so many!

Let's catch up now.
First Sunday of November, worship services began again in the building onEmelia St. with Wendell Seawright preaching. Since then we have added a Sunday evening service and a Ladies' Bible Study! A small group of us cooked and ate Thanksgiving Dinner, as well as Christmas dinner in the single-wide that has a kitchen in it. We have also purchased 500 DVDs, "Searching for the Truth" and "The Kingdom" and are working on an informational insert to be added with the DVDs and other tracts in anticipation of a town-wide canvas to let residents know The Church of Christ is here! We praise God for this great freedom to be able to spend what time we need and want in our own buildings, on our own time-table, i.e., we don't have to get out of the Senior Center before the next group comes in. We do not ever want to take all of it for granted: how the Holy Spirit just pulled it all together for us, when God's timing was right!

The contributions and pledges and surprises just keep coming in. To remind you, we have a huge lot, and two older modulars, and a new garage/storage area. The double wide modular is where we hold worship services, the single wide is our "potluck" area. It also has a small bedroom to accomodate someone who may need a temporary place to stay. The selling price was only $125,000, and because money had been being regularly deposited from contributions for the last several years, we were able to pay $60,000 down. The seller was kind and lenient towards us and said we could make interest-only payments until we were able to pay more, but he told us the balance of $65,000 had to be paid in five years. So, since March, we have been paying interest-only payments. But because of the generous gifting, just last week, we made the first of what we hope to be 5 payments of $13,000! Our account still has over $6,000 in it for emergencies and repairs, etc.
Our hearts are full of gratitude and our heads are now turned towards making the second payment next fall.

Wonderful news!
Kay and Woody just called, and their mail had caught up with them in Wyoming, and there was a "letter of determination" from AZ. which means the new Quartzsite Church of Christ, now has legal NON-PROFIT status. We were told that would take about a year, so we would have to pay this year's property taxes (coming yr.) of about?? $800.00....but the letter got here in record time...a few months only, and it got here before the Aug. 15th deadline for taxes! Once again, God is blessing this endeavor, folks. Let's not make him sorry, ever, for these blessings.

Along that line, let's be saving any soaps, shampoos, etc. etc. we may get at motels, etc. and bring them when we come back. These can be handed out to the missions, in the name of the Quartzsite Church of Christ......also, any perfect condition used/ or new stuffed animals, bring them and we will begin that ministry, for children in stressful situations, etc., and also, it has been suggested that we have a clothes give away. We would want them to be very good condition, and we could have a day a week or something that the building was open for free clothes, for all ages. So these are some ministries that we are thinking about, as well as food pantry, so be thinking about all of these...and coming up with more ideas of yours!
By the way, the bank account is staying up! Bless the ones donating. We have been looking at chairs, and really want to have comfortable ones, eventually, because most of us are seniors, and if Wendell is going to preach eight hours, we need to be comfortable. Not sure about getting them now. Guess we could go back to the old days when everyone bought their own pew. ha.

Just want to say hello! We have been blessed by all that Kay and Woody have done for the church. They have moved out of the hot weather, and are camped-at last notice-along a lake on the Utah/Idaho border, fishing! Yeah! They said they had the best night's sleep since it got so hot in AZ!

We are keeping up with the bank account, and even after making almost $1,000 in required "permits/payments" the account balance is just short of $9,900! Over $1200 has been deposited since May 26th! Praise the Lord and thank you!

2nd Update, May 5, 2009

So much continues to happen to support our belief that the Holy Spirit is with us in this endeavor.
On the last Sunday Vern and Judy worshipped with the Quartzsite body of the Lord, a young gentleman was present and volunteered to make our pulpit. That was wonderful enough, but he also made a lovely communion table, too! He is a gifted wood-worker. They have both been delivered and are being used!

Brother Wendell reports that attendance was at 18 and 20 each Sunday, which is about double what it has been in past years, but expects it to drop this month.

A couple of weeks ago, Judy stopped at an estate sale and was able to buy 2 large artificial plants to set up front on the building's "stage" area. They are lovely! And when they heard they were for a church building, the couple gave them to us for the price of one, which was incredibly reasonable already! Praise the Lord.

We hear from Woody and Kay that things are being painted and fixed constantly. It is now very warm (102) my computer said, in Quartzsite. They are also doing much of the book work, bank work, application work, etc. We say prayers of gratitude for them being able to stay on longer than we could and doing so much. Hazel and Paul are not able to do these things from Iowa, so it is a great blessing.

Hazel and Paul are doing well as of the last call we had with them. Hazel has acquired some towels, silverware, etc. for the building! The Coffeys are doing well, also. Bob recently had surgery on the palm of his hand, and his fingers. They report it was successful! A recent tornado missed them, and we hope the five inches of rain expected in parts of Arkansas will also miss them. The weather is unsettled everywhere it seems.

Oregon has had snow in the mountains falling regularly since our return. We feel we are living in a rainforrest, as we do every May, with all the trees which encircle our house leafing out, moss on every tall trunk, rain dripping off of each tree, and the hay field tall with green grasses waving.

The bank balance is at $9,600+ which is the result of generous hearts. Our first update! (3-31-09)

Hallelujah! Praise God! Papers were signed and property just four blocks from the Senior Center (where we have been meeting for 15+years) has been acquired for a place of worship and service to God.

The physical address is 76 Emelia There is an older double wide modular for the worship area and a single wide modular for the fellowship area, complete with stove, sink, bathroom and small bedroom. There is also a large garage type building with room off to the side, both plastered and fairly new.

History: This property and buildings were used by the Baptist Church and then for Music Jams. There is a beautiful Mexican brick "fence" all around the acre of property, two sliding black iron gates and plenty of parking!

Over half has been paid down, but we need to raise the rest. The former owner, "Red," is carrying the contract at 4.5%. A great price!

Thank you so much for being a part of this historic event…Quartzsite now has a permanent place to worship in and allow Brother Wendell to preach his eight hours, without having to leave to let someone come play BINGO !

We are hoping you will have fun attending garage sales, or going through your basement or attic to help find things for the two buildings. We are researching stackable chairs at a surplus store at Oregon State University right now, as well as a couple more tables, etc.

Woody and Kay Hoyman have parked their RV on the property and we have heard they have been painting and perking up things.
